Grønlandsbankens Business Fund has today – May 13, 2019 – awarded the fund’s Entrepreneur Prize to Anette and Bo Lings, Sisimiut.

For a number of years, the Business Fund has awarded its Entrepreneur Prize to individuals or companies who, through their work, have demonstrated particular drive, commitment, and remarkable initiative – and over time, recipients have come from different parts of Greenland and from various business sectors.

The board of the Business Fund has chosen to award the Entrepreneur Prize 2019 to Anette and Bo Lings, Sisimiut.

The award includes a monetary gift of DKK 25,000.

Chairman of GrønlandsBANKEN’s Business Fund, Kristian Lennert, explains the board’s decision:

“The reason for selecting Anette and Bo Lings as recipients of the Entrepreneur Prize 2019 is that, based in Sisimiut and with great professionalism, dedication, and persistence, they have over several years refined and further developed business activities and especially tourism offerings in and around Sisimiut.

Anette and Bo Lings have shown that truly special experiences can be created in any region. Most recently, the range of experiences has been expanded with unique fishing trips in an internationally recognized fishing area, where new framework conditions—such as the opportunity for a concession on a river—are being utilized.

It is especially commendable to see how Anette and Bo Lings have succeeded in spreading activities across the region and throughout the year, and how the different elements of their offerings are interconnected and contribute to a complete visitor experience in Sisimiut.

At a time when Greenland’s infrastructure is about to be changed and expanded, it is important to keep an eye on and focus on the many opportunities to create experiences for future tourists—and thereby also attract more visitors. The board of GrønlandsBANKEN’s Business Fund believes that Anette and Bo Lings have taken the lead and are showing the way in this area, hopefully serving as great inspiration for future entrepreneurs.”

The award was presented to Juliane Henningsen from Arctic Circle Business in the absence of Anette and Bo Lings.
