GrønlandsBANKEN’s Business Fund has this year chosen to award the Entrepreneur Prize to Anita Høegh, Qiviut ApS.

For a number of years, the Business Fund has awarded its Entrepreneur Prize to an individual or company who has stood out in a special way.

This year, the choice fell on Anita Høegh, Qiviut ApS, who receives the prize based on her specialization in the production and sale of musk ox wool since 2008 – a business that benefits large parts of the local economy, from purchasing raw material from hunters to delivering the final product to shops.

Chairman of GrønlandsBANKEN’s Business Fund, Kristian Lennert, explains why Anita Høegh was chosen:

– Anita Høegh has succeeded in combining a practical, warm material with exclusivity, appealing to both locals and tourists. Moreover, Qiviut ApS supports local suppliers in a way no one else has managed before. Through business acumen and determination, Anita Høegh has managed to establish a local and unique product that can be sold both in Greenland and internationally. In addition to the physical business, she has launched a webshop that reaches all of Greenland and the rest of the world. We, at GrønlandsBANKEN’s Business Fund, wish to recognize that, concludes Kristian Lennert.

Through purchasing from hunters and extracting wool from hides, followed by sorting, cleaning, yarn spinning, and production, Anita Høegh has succeeded in creating a unique Greenlandic product — benefiting every link in the value chain. The Entrepreneur Prize includes a check for DKK 25,000.
