We are pleased to announce that Branch Manager Malene Christensen will take on the role of Retail Banking Director at Grønlandsbanken effective August 1, 2025.

Malene was born and raised in Sisimiut and has been part of Greenland's Bank since 2001, where she started in the cash department in Sisimiut. 

Over the years, Malene has held a variety of roles, including customer support, advisor, branch manager, and employee-elected board member. She has worked in several of our branches – from Sisimiut and Qaqortoq to Aasiaat and Nuuk – and was, among other things, instrumental as a new branch manager in opening the branch in Aasiaat. Her in-depth knowledge of both our organization and the local community makes her a strong candidate for this role.

Malene has continuously pursued further education and has, among other things, completed a board training program and most recently a Master's in Management. 

Regarding her new role, Malene states:

“I look forward to working on enhancing the customer experience and making a difference for our private clients and partners. We have exciting plans to get even closer to our customers and realize their dreams, and I am eager to be a part of this development.”
