To reduce the risk of card fraud, new requirements are being introduced for how you approve your payments when shopping online.
This means that you may be required to approve your payments using either:
- MitID, or
- A personal password of your choice along with an SMS code.
You may risk not being able to complete your purchase if you don't have MitID or a personal password ready. These requirements apply to Dankort, VisaDankort, and Mastercard.
Easiest Approval with MitID App
We recommend using MitID, as it allows you to quickly and easily approve your payments. If you don’t already have the app, you can download it from the App Store or Google Play. Please note that you cannot use the MitID code reader for approval (3D Secure).
How to Approve with a Personal Password and SMS Code
If you cannot or do not wish to use MitID, you will need to approve your online purchases with a personal password of your choice, along with an SMS code.
You can create a personal password on the Nets website. You will need MitID to set up your card for online shopping.
When paying with Dankort, Visa/Dankort, or MasterCard for online transactions, mail orders, or phone orders, you will need to enter a three-digit security code. This code is printed on the back of your card, but the location may vary depending on the card type. You should never disclose your PIN when using a payment card.
